Mike O'Malley (born October 31, 1966 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is an American actor , television producer and author of several plays.

Life

He completed his school education in 1988 at the University of New Hampshire with a degree in theater studies, where he received an honorary doctorate in 2006. In addition to several minor supporting roles in feature films, he is best known in German-speaking countries as an actor in television series. The film Certainity , which won several awards at the Boston Film Festival in September 2011, is based on his script for the play Searching for Certainty . He is also a screenwriter and television producer on the US television series Shameless . O'Malley lives in Los Angeles with his wife Lisa and three children
