Martin Hayter Short (born March 26, 1950 in Hamilton , Ontario ) is a Canadian actor , comedian , screenwriter , singer and producer .

In Germany he is mainly for his portrayal in film comedies such as Die Reise ins Ich , Aus dem Dschungel, in den Dschungel or Mars Attacks! known. His breakthrough in Canada and the United States came in the 1980s as a member of the ensemble on the comedy shows Second City Television and Saturday Night Live .

Life

Short was the youngest of five children of Charles Patrick Short - a refugee of the Irish War of Independence and Olive Hayer Short in - Hamilton ( Canada born). In 1980 he married Nancy Dolman. She was also an actress and starred in various television series. She died on August 21, 2010 at the age of 58.

Short was named a Member of the Royal Order of Canada in 1994 .

His German dubbing voice is usually Michael Pan .
