Alice in Wonderland is a 1999 fairy tale film based on the book Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll .
action
The girl Alice is supposed to perform a song in front of a company of guests of her parents, which she does not feel equal. So she takes refuge on the edge of the forest. After sitting there for a while, time suddenly seems to stand still. A white rabbit appears and disappears into a hole under a tree trunk. Alice follows the white rabbit and arrives in wonderland.
There she meets many strange individuals, some of whom are reminiscent of her parents' guests. Eventually Alice is summoned to a court hearing where she is supposed to testify. Since she showed courage during the negotiation, the King of Hearts revealed to her that she no longer needed the wonderland, but had to face her upcoming singing performance. The courtroom, made up of playing cards, dissolves, and Alice is back under the tree, where she has been all along.
After Alice returns, she solves the problem by reciting another song she learned from the fake green turtle, which gets quite a bit of applause.
particularities
The plot is - except for the frame story - very closely related to the book. Even the songs ( Hummer-Quadrille , Beautiful Soup ) were adapted from the book.
The special effects of the feature film, shot in England , were created by the London-based trick studio Framestore CFC . Many world stars play with Alice in Wonderland .

Reviews
“A star-studded film that paints its fantastic world with the help of a variety of computer effects that were worked out in the workshop of" Muppet father "Jim Henson. A bizarre entertainment fun, which of course reveals the background of the original for all its qualities. "
