Alice in Wonderland (or What's a Nice Kid Like You Doing in a Place Like This?) Is an hour-long animated television film written by Bill Dana (he also voiced The White Knight in the film), produced by Hanna-Barbera , and by the Broadcast ABC on March 30, 1966 first broadcast.

This adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland differs in many respects from the known story. For example, Alice falls into a television set instead of a rabbit hole. In addition, Fred Feuerstein and Barney Rubble from the Feuerstein family appear in the film as a two-headed caterpillar, and Hedda Hatter (reinvented in this film) is a female counterpart to the mad hatter .

Rexall and Coca-Cola sponsored the film, so the main characters appeared in Rexall commercials.

After the film aired, Hanna-Barbera Records released a soundtrack album . Although Sammy Davis Jr. in the film the voice of the Cheshire Cat spoke, the song became What's a Nice Kid Like You Doing in a Place Like This? sung by Scatman Crothers because Davis' exclusive with Reprise Records had expired.

music

The composition is by Charles Strouse ; Lee Adams wrote the lyrics . For the arrangement were Hoyt S. Curtin and Marty Paitch responsible.
