Giles Nuttgens

Giles Nuttgens (born July 12, 1961 ) is a British cameraman .

Life

Giles Nuttgens is the son of the architect Patrick Nuttgens (1930-2004). His younger brother is the composer Sandy Nuttgens . In 1981 he began his career as a camera assistant on BBC TV. At the age of 25 he became one of the youngest cameramen for film documentaries. Later he became a camera assistant of Andrew Dunn and debuted with the 1992 published and Pradip Krishen staged Electric Moon as a cameraman for a feature film. He later shot her elementary trilogy Fire - When Love Catches Fire (1996), Earth (1998) and Water (2005) for Canadian director Deepa Mehta . For the latter, he was named Best Cinematographer at the Canadian Genie Award .
