26th Genie Awards
The 26th Genie Awards were presented on March 13, 2006 . Awards went to films released in Canada in 2005 .
The event was held at the Carlu Theater , Toronto. Lisa Ray and Terry David Mulligan hosted the television broadcast. The Golden Reel award is awarded for the highest revenue in Canadian cinemas in the previous year. The Claude Jutra Prize honors the best first film by a director. The big winner in 2006 was the film CRAZY - Verrücktes Leben (CRAZY) by director Jean-Marc Vallée with eleven awards out of thirteen nominations.
