Chris Munro

Chris Munro (* before 1972) is a British sound engineer and has worked on over 80 films since 1972, including James Bond 007 - Casino Royale  (2006), Sherlock Holmes  (2009) and Gravity  (2013). Munro has received numerous nominations and awards throughout his career, including two Academy Awards and two BAFTA awards .

Career

At the beginning of his career, Munro worked on the British agent action series The Profis (1979 to 1980). He was later involved in films such as A Fish Named Wanda  (1988) or Robin Hood - King of Thieves  (1991). In 1995 Munro received his first BAFTA nomination for his work on Backbeat . In 2000 the first Oscar nomination followed in the " Best Sound " category for The Mummy . In 2002 Munro received an Oscar for Black Hawk Down , after previously starring in James Bond 007 - The World Is Not Enough  (1999) and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider  (2001). In 2006 Munro received a Genie Awards nomination for True Lies . After further work on James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace and Operation Walküre (both 2008) and Sherlock Holmes: Spiel im Schatten  (2011), Munro received a 2012 Satellite Awards nomination for Snow White and the Huntsman . A nomination for Captain Phillips followed at the 2014 Academy Awards . At the same time Munro was awarded an Oscar for Gravity , for which he also received a BAFTA award.
