Bernard Gariépy Strobl is a Canadian sound engineer .

Life

Strobl, son of the Austrian-Canadian sound engineer Hans Peter Strobl (1942–2007), began his career in the mid-1990s. His main focus is film, but he has also worked for television productions. During his career he has received numerous awards. He won the Prix ​​Jutra six times and the Genie Award twice . He was nominated twice for the Gemini Award , but could not win the award. In 2013 he won the Canadian Screen Award . Strobl often worked together with the sound engineer Claude La Haye . Together they were nominated for Arrival at the 2017 Academy Awards for the Oscar in the Best Sound category. They also won the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Sound category for the science fiction film starring Sylvain Bellemare .
