Sylvain Bellemare

Sylvain Bellemare (born February 20, 1968 in Montreal , Québec ) is a Canadian sound engineer .

Life

Bellemare began his career in the early 1990s, making his film debut in Denys Arcand's relationship film Love and Other Cruelties . 1996 began with the short film - anthology Cosmos a long-standing collaboration with director Denis Villeneuve . Bellemare subsequently worked on, among others, The 32nd August on Earth and The Woman Who Sings - Incendies . In 2017 he won the Oscar in the category Best Sound Editing for Arrival . Together with Claude La Haye and Bernard Gariépy Strobl , he also won the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Sound category for the science fiction film .
