Claude La Haye is a Canadian sound engineer .

Life

La Haye began his career in the mid-1980s and initially worked as a sound assistant on the boom . From the mid-1990s he worked as a sound engineer. His main focus is film, but he has also worked for television productions. He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2005 for his participation in the television film The Guardian Angel with William H. Macy and Ned Beatty in the leading roles .

During his career he has received numerous awards. In 2000 he received the Golden Reel Award , four times he won the Prix ​​Jutra , and once he received the Genie Award . He was nominated twice for the Gemini Award , but could not win the award. He often worked with the sound engineer Bernard Gariépy Strobl . Both were nominated for an Oscar in the Best Sound category for Arrival at the 2017 Academy Awards. They also won the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Sound category for the science fiction film together with Sylvain Bellemare .
