Martin Short (racing driver)

Martin Short (born March 20, 1959 in El Adem , Libya ) is a former British racing driver .

Career in motorsport

Martin Short has been active in touring and sports car racing since the late 1990s . He drove his first race in 1998 in the British GT Championship ; celebrated his first overall victory in 2003 when he won a race of this racing series at Brands Hatch . Teammate in the Mosler MT900R was compatriot Tom Herridge . He also celebrated further overall victories in the domestic GT championship. At Silverstone in 2009 and again at Brands Hatch in 2010.

Short was closely associated with the British racing team Rollcentre Racing . For the St Ives- based company, he contested most of his races, including four of the five appearances in the Le Mans 24-hour race and his only appearance in the Sebring 12-hour race .

The Briton has two championship wins. In 2008 he won the overall ranking of the Dutch Supercar Challenge and was able to repeat this success in 2013.
