Radical SR9
The Radical SR9 is a LMP2 class Le Mans prototype developed by Radical Sportscars in Great Britain . With the Radical SR10, there is also a variant for the LMP1 class.
Races
Bruichladdich has carried out the official works outings for Radical in the Le Mans Series since 2006 . In doing so, they rely on engines from AER . The American team Van der Steuer Racing also relies on AER . However, they have only been racing in the American Le Mans Series sporadically since 2006 . After Rollcentre Racing relied on an SR9 in 2006, the engagement for 2007 was canceled, despite an operational SR9 in their garages. The current SR9 project was initiated by the British team ECO Racing . A biodiesel -fired LMP1 variant of the SR9, known as the SR10, was to make its debut in the Sebring 12-hour race in 2008 . But due to the lack of valid homologation, this was impossible. The problems were resolved by the last round of the championship at the Laguna Seca Raceway , but the car broke down with damage to the drive shaft.
Embassy Racing fielded an SR9 in the LMS in 2007. As in 2006 at Rollcentre, this was equipped with a Judd. Embassy itself developed its own Le Mans prototype for 2008 with the WF01 . This inherited some technical components of the SR9, especially since the designer Peter Elleray was responsible for the development of both vehicles.
