The Embassy WF01 is a LMP2 class Le Mans prototype developed by Embassy Racing in Great Britain . The car made its debut in the Le Mans Series in 2008 and also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans . After the 2008 season, Embassy stopped all racing business due to the economic situation.
Races
Embassy Racing fielded two WR01s in the Le Mans Series in 2008 . In addition to Warren Hughes , Jonny Kane and Joey Foster , other individual starters were used as drivers throughout the season. The most successful race was the 1000 km on the Nürburgring , where not only both prototypes crossed the finish line, but also a solid result with eleventh place (fourth in the LMP2) and 14th (seventh LMP2). At Le Mans , the car with the Hughes / Kane / Foster driver crew failed after a technical defect after driving 213 laps.
technology
The chassis was designed by Peter Elleray . He was also responsible for the design of the Radical SR9 . So the WF01 inherited some parts from the SR9. In addition, Embassy used an SR9 in the LMS as early as 2007. Both built vehicles were equipped with a 3.4 liter V8 unit, the Zytek ZG348 and Michelin tires.
