Darren Manning (born April 30, 1975 in North Yorkshire ) is a British automobile racing driver .

Career

Darren Manning began his karting career in 1985 when he was ten . In 1992 he entered the British Formula First Winter Series at Brands Hatch and finished second. From 1993 to 1995 Manning went to the British Formula Vauxhall championship and finished second after two individual victories. In 1996 he switched to British Formula 3 and also drove the Renault Spider Eurocup . In 1998 Manning drove a few races in Japanese Formula 3 and in 1999 Manning became Korean Formula 3 GP winner and Japanese Formula 3 champion.

In 2000 and 2001 BAR-Honda hired him as a test driver. In addition to test drives, he also drove races in the international Formula 3000 championship for the Arden team. In 2002 he drove a race for the St.George team in the ChampCar World Series , a race in the Porsche Supercup and a race in the sports car world championship . In 2003 Manning finished 9th in the ChampCar World Series. In 2004 and 2005 he went to the IndyCar Series , albeit with moderate success. In 2006 he represented his country in the A1 Grand Prix and also drove a GT2 vehicle in the FIA GT Championship . In 2007 he finished 13th at the Indy Cars.
