Ronnie Quintarelli (born August 9, 1979 in Verona ) is an Italian racing driver . In 2004 he won the Japanese Formula 3 championship .

Career

Quintarelli began his motorsport career in 1990 in kart racing , in which he was active until 1999. Later he also took part in individual kart races. In 2000 he moved into the single-seater racing and was third in the Italian Formula Renault . In 2001 he entered an Italian Formula Renault race again. The Italian was most successful this season in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup , in which he finished seventh in the drivers' championship with a win. He also started in the German Formula 3 championship and finished 25th in the overall standings. In 2002 he started in the German Formula Volkswagen and was runner-up with four victories.

In 2003 the racing driver left Europe and switched to Inging Motorsport in the Japanese Formula 3 championship . Although he couldn't win a race, thanks to twelve podium placements he was runner-up behind James Courtney . In 2004 Quintarelli contested his second season in Japanese Formula 3 for Inging. He won the championship with eight wins.

In 2005 the Italian switched to Formula Nippon , where he competed in six races for Kondo Racing . With a second place as the best result, he finished ninth in the drivers' championship. He also started in the Super GT , in which he finished 28th. In 2006 he returned to Inging Motorsport and contested his second season in Formula Nippon. At the end of the season, he finished tenth in the championship. He also took part in a Super GT race and took part in Formula 1 test drives for Spyker MF1 . In 2007 Quintarelli stayed with Inging Motorsport and won his first race in Formula Nippon in Mimasaka . At the end of the season, he finished seventh overall, which was his best result in Formula Nippon to date. In 2008 he competed again in Formula Nippon. With a third place as the best result, he was ninth in the Formula Nippon. After having only participated in three Super GT races in 2007, he contested the 2008 Super GT season in parallel. With one win, he was twelfth in the championship.

In 2009 Quintarelli left Formula Nippon and focused on his involvement in the Super GT. With one win, he finished seventh overall. In 2010 he stayed in the Super GT.
