Takashi Kogure ( Japanese 小 暮 卓 史 , Kogure Takashi ; born August 1, 1980 in Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese racing driver . He was Japanese Formula 3 Champion in 2002 and Super GT Champion in 2010 . He competed in Formula Nippon from 2003 to 2011 .

Career

Kogure began his motorsport career in karting in 1996 and remained active in this sport until 1998. In 1999 he made his formula racing debut in the Japanese Formula Junior 1600 . In 2000 he started in the Japanese Formula Toyota and finished fifth. In 2001 he switched to the Japanese Formula 3 championship and finished his first season in eleventh place overall. In 2002 he stayed in the Japanese Formula 3 and won 11 of the 20 races starting for Dome , securing the championship title from Paolo Montin . He also finished third in the prestigious Macau Grand Prix .

In 2003 he moved to Nakajima Racing in Formula Nippon . With a second place as the best result, he finished tenth overall. He also took part in three races of the Japanese GT Championship for Nakajima Racing . In 2004 he only competed in Formula Nippon. He won his first race at the season opener in Suzuka . He was seventh overall.

In 2005 he improved to fifth overall in Formula Nippon. The Japanese, who had achieved second place as the best result this season, could not win. Kogure also started for Dome in the Super GT , the former Japanese GT championship. He was on the podium once and was 19th overall. In 2006 , Kogure left Nakajima Racing in Formula Nippon and switched to ARTA . He only crossed the finish line once and finished the season in twelfth place in the championship. The racing driver was more successful this season in the Super GT, in which he finished third in the championship with one win. In 2007 he returned to Nakajima Racing in Formula Nippon. Kogure won three races and finished third overall, which is his best overall position in Formula Nippon to date. In the Super GT he stayed with Dome and finished fourth with a win. In January 2008, Kogure was allowed to complete Formula 1 test drives for Honda .

In 2008 he achieved second place in the Formula Nippon as the best result and was fifth overall. In the Super GT he finished sixth with one win. In 2009 , Kogure contested his seventh season in Formula Nippon for Nakajima Racing. While his team-mate Loïc Duval won the championship title, Kogure won two races and finished fourth in the championship. Duval and Kogure were the only pilots who could win more than one race. In the Super GT, Kogure finished sixth again. In 2010 , Kogure won the season opener in Suzuka. With three further podium finishes, he finished fourth overall at the end of the season. In the Super GT he left Dome and switched to Weider Honda Racing. Together with Duval, who was his teammate this season, he decided the championship for himself. The two won a race.

In 2011 , Kogure stayed with Nakajima Racing in Formula Nippon. With a second place as the best result, he finished the season in seventh place in the drivers' standings. In the Super GT he achieved third place overall with his team-mate Duval. The two won two races.
