Daisuke Nakajima

Daisuke Nakajima ( Japanese 中 島 大祐 , Nakajima Daisuke ; born January 29, 1989 in Okazaki , Aichi Prefecture ) is a Japanese automobile racing driver . He started in the Super Formula (formerly Formula Nippon) from 2011 to 2015 .

His father Satoru and his brother Kazuki are also racing drivers.

Career

After Nakajima began his motorsport career in karting , he switched to formula racing in 2007 and made his first experiences in the Japanese Formula Challenge . With four wins, he was fifth overall. In 2008 Nakajima switched to the Japanese Formula 3 championship and finished ninth overall.

In 2009 Nakajima moved to Europe and started for Raikkonen Robertson Racing in the British Formula 3 championship . With two podium finishes, he finished the season in seventh place overall, placing himself in front of his team-mate Carlos Huertas , who was eighth. 2010 Nakajima contested his second season in the British Formula 3 championship for Raikkonen Robertson Racing. With three second places as the best results, he finished eleventh in the overall ranking.

In 2011 Nakajima returned to Japan and competed in Formula Nippon for the family racing team Nakajima Racing . He finished his debut season in 13th place overall, while his teammate Takashi Kogure finished seventh overall. In 2012 , Nakajima completed its second Formula Nippon season for Nakajima Racing. He was in the end with no points in 16th place and was beaten again by Kogure, who had reached 13th place. In addition, Nakajima took part in five Super GT races for Mugen . He finished 15th in the GT300 class together with Hideki Mutoh . In 2013 , Nakajima stayed with Nakajima Racing in Formula Nippon, which was now called Super Formula . In Suzuka , he achieved his first podium finish with second place and he finished the season in twelfth place overall. Within the team he was therefore subject to Kogure, who was eighth overall. Nakajima also contested the entire 2013 season in the Super GT for the family racing team. He formed a driver duo with Ryō Michigami . The two ended the season in 15th and last place in the drivers' standings.

In 2014 Nakajima contested his fourth Super Formula season. At the end of the season he was 15th overall. With 4 to 0 points he prevailed internally against Kogure for the first time. In 2014, Bertrand Baguette was Nakajima's team-mate in the Super GT . With a third place the two achieved a place on the podium and finished 17th in the drivers' championship. In 2015 Nakajima started again for Nakajima Racing in the Super Formula. He finished the season on the tenth championship course. In addition, he was again active in the Super GT. Together with Baguette he was 15th in the drivers' championship.
