The NABU-Naturschutzstation Münsterland eV is a biological station founded in 1997 . The NABU regional association NRW and the NABU district associations Coesfeld, Münster and Warendorf share the responsibility of the station . It is one of around 40 biological stations in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is a facility for nature conservation based on Haus Heidhorn on the southern outskirts of Münster between the forest areas of the Davert and the Hohen Ward . Your area of ​​work is the city of Münster and the districts of Coesfeld and Warendorf.

Her tasks include recording flora and fauna , mapping biotopes , looking after a total of 29 areas and numerous individual objects in the city of Münster and the Warendorf district , public relations, nature and environmental education and organizing events.

A total of three floodplain sections of the Ems near Westbevern northeast of the city of Münster are looked after by the NABU nature conservation station (Emsaue Vadrup, Pöhlen and Lauheide). There, Heck cattle and Konik used for grassland maintenance. Further grazing areas of the NABU nature conservation station (Davert pasture landscape) are in the Emmerbachaue between Davensberg and Münster-Amelsbüren and in the NSG Brunsberg and Kerbtal in Beckum .
