Hiroaki Ishiura

Hiroaki Ishiura ( Japanese 石浦 宏 明 , Ishiura Hiroaki ; born April 23, 1981 in Setagaya , Tokyo ) is a Japanese racing driver . From 2008 to 2011 he drove in Formula Nippon and from 2014 to 2016 in its successor series Super Formula , which he won in 2015. From 2007 to 2016 he competed in the Super GT .

Career

Ishiura began his motorsport career in karting and was active in this sport from 1999 to 2001. In 2003 he moved into the single-seater racing and was fourth in the Japanese Formula Toyota . He stayed in this racing series for the next two years, finishing sixth in 2004 and third in the drivers' championship in 2005. In 2006 he switched to the Japanese Formula 3 championship and ended the season with a race win in ninth place overall. He also started in a Super GT race . In 2007 he played his second season in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship. With two victories, he improved to fourth place in the drivers' championship. He also won the GT300 classification in the Super GT together with Kazuya Ōshima .

In 2008 he moved to Team LeMans in Formula Nippon and finished his debut season in 16th place overall. He also finished 15th in the Super GT for Toyota Team Tsuchiya . In 2009 , Ishiura regularly scored points in Formula Nippon. With a third place he achieved his first podium placement. In the drivers' championship, he finished sixth overall. In the Super GT, he won a race with Lexus Team Kraft and finished the season in ninth place. In 2010 he again achieved third place as the best result in Formula Nippon. He finished eighth in the overall standings. In the Super GT, he won another race with Lexus Team Kraft and improved to sixth overall.

In 2011 , Ishiura switched to the Kygnus Sunoco team within Formula Nippon . A second place was his best result and he finished the season in sixth place. In addition, Ishiura was active for the Lexus Team Sard in the Super GT and was seventh overall. In 2012, Ishiura only drove in the Super GT for Lexus Team Sard. Together with Juichi Wakisaka he won a race and was third overall with Wakisaka. In 2013, Ishiura drove for Lexus Team Sard in the Super GT and finished seventh in the drivers' championship.

In 2014 Ishiura returned to formula racing and started in the former Formula Nippon, which had now been renamed Super Formula. He received a cockpit at P.μ / cerumo ・ INGING . With a second place as the best result, he finished fifth in the drivers' championship. He was also 13th in the Super GT with Lexus Team Sard. In 2015 , Ishiura stayed with P.μ / cerumo ・ INGING in the Super Formula. In the second race in Mimasaka , he won his first Super Formula race. In Motegi he won again. With 51.5 to 45.5 points, he prevailed in the championship against Kazuki Nakajima and achieved the overall victory. In 2015, Ishiura competed in the Super GT together with Yūji Tachikawa for Lexus Team Zent Cerumo . With three podium finishes, the duo finished fourth overall. In the 2016 Super Formula season , Ishiura won a race for P.μ / cerumo ・ INGING and was on the podium five times. While his teammate Yūji Kunimoto decided the championship for themselves, he reached fifth place overall. In the Super GT, Ishiura scored a victory with Tachikawa for Lexus Team Zent Cerumo and was sixth overall.
