Iqbal Theba (born December 20, 1963 in Karachi ) is a Pakistani - American actor .

life and career

Iqbal Theba grew up in his hometown of Karachi and came to the United States through studying abroad at the University of Oklahoma . During his studies he discovered his interest in acting and after completing his bachelor's degree in civil engineering, he moved to New York to try his hand at acting. After barely finding work in New York for a period of two years, he moved to Hollywood to try the movie business. In 1993 he made his cinema debut with a small role as a student in a naturalization test in An immoral offer . This was followed by a long series of mostly smaller roles on television. He had recurring roles as Dr. Zagerby in four episodes of Emergency Room , as Zoohair Bhutto in three episodes of All Under One Roof and as Iqbal in four episodes of A Terribly Nice Family .

Probably his best-known role is that of the headmaster Figgins in the television series Glee , which he played in a total of 58 episodes from 2009 to 2015. The Screen Actors Guild Awards , the ensemble received from Glee in 2010 the award for Best Acting Ensemble in a TV Series - Comedy .
