Mark Wayne Salling (born August 17, 1982 in Dallas , Texas - † January 30, 2018 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor and singer .

Life

Mark Salling grew up in a strictly Protestant home and was initially homeschooled. He then attended the Providence Christian School and Our Redeemer Lutheran . In 2001 he graduated from Lake Highlands High School . During his high school years he was a member of the wrestling team and took part in school talent shows as an actor. After graduating from high school, he attended the Music Academy College of Music in Pasadena and began to improve his guitar playing. To make a living, he gave guitar lessons. After minor roles in Children of Wrath IV - Murderous Cult and Walker, Texas Ranger , he played the role of Noah "Puck" Puckerman in the US television series Glee from 2009 . Salling also sang and wrote songs.

In January 2013, his former girlfriend, Roxanne Gorzela, accused him of forcing her to have unprotected sex with him and sued him for assault and sexual assault. He denied the allegations and counterclaimed character assassination. In March 2015, Salling reached an out-of-court settlement with Gorzela after judges ordered him to pay her $ 2.7 million.

At the end of December 2015, Salling was arrested in Los Angeles for having child pornographic material on his computer (around 50,000 images and videos). In December 2017, he pleaded guilty in court for possession of child pornography and faced four to seven years in prison. Salling died of suicide in January 2018, aged 35 , before a sentence was pronounced.
