Josh Pence

Joshua Charles "Josh" Pence (born June 8, 1982 in Santa Monica , California ) is an American actor .

Life

Pence was born in Santa Monica, California, the first son of a real estate agent and elementary school teacher. He has a younger brother.

In 2000, Pence graduated from high school and moved to Hanover , New Hampshire to study at Dartmouth College . After graduating from Dartmouth College, he briefly returned to Los Angeles in 2004 to begin training as an actor. During this time he worked as a model . From 2005 to 2007 he lived in New York City , where he continued his acting training with Sheila Gray and worked part-time as a model.

From 2006 he had his first minor supporting roles in films such as The Good Shepherd and television series such as CSI: NY or CSI: Miami . In 2009, Pence also auditioned for the lead role in the Marvel comic book adaptation Thor , but was ultimately turned down due to his limited experience.

In David Fincher's 2010 film The Social Network , Pence acted as the body double for actor Armie Hammer , who played twins Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss in a double role . Hammer's face was later recorded in the studio in scenes with the faces of both twins and digitally transferred to the body of the second twin portrayed by Pence.

In 2012, Pence took on the role of young Ra's al Ghul in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises .
