Anno Mungen

Anno Mungen (born October 13, 1961 in Cologne ) is a German musicologist . He has been teaching as a (music) theater scholar at the University of Bayreuth since 2006 .

Career

Mungen studied flute from 1982 to 1986 at the Music Academy in Duisburg (examination to become a state-recognized music school teacher). 1986–1995 he moved to the Technical University of Berlin to study musicology and art history (there, master's degree and doctorate). From 1993 to 1994 he was a lecturer at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy . From 1998–1999 there was a research stay in the USA as part of the DFG project “Theater Images and Music”. 1995–2000 Mungen was a research assistant for various DFG projects and lecturer at the Musicological Institute of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, 2000–2001 fellow of the DFG. In 2002 he received his habilitation. 2003–2005 he was a lecturer at the Cologne University of Music . From 2004–2005 he took on a substitute professorship for musicology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , where he was also appointed professor for musicology from 2005–2006.

Since 2006, as successor to Sieghart Döhring, he has been head of the Research Institute for Music Theater (fimt) and holder of the Chair for Theater Studies with special emphasis on music theater at the University of Bayreuth.
