Zabryna Guevara (born March 4, 1978 ) is an American actress of Venezuelan descent. She gained fame primarily through her roles in the series Gotham and The Get Down .

life and career

Zabryna Guevara made her acting debut in front of the camera in 1997 with a guest appearance in the series Law & Order . In 2001 she was seen in the role of Denise in The Hotel Manor Inn for the first time in a film. In 2006 she starred as Melanie Ortiz in one of the leading roles in the series 3 lbs. In 2008 she played a nurse in the book adaptation Marley & Me . Another small supporting role in the romantic comedy Lieber in love followed a year later . In 2010 she played a waitress in the crime film All Beauty Must Die . In 2011 she played a supporting role in the art house film Pariah. She then appeared in the films Yelling To The Sky and On the Road with Mum . In 2013 she was on stage for the production of the Pulitzer Prize- winning Water by the Spoonful by author Quiara Alegría Hudes at the Second Stage Theater in Manhattan .

2014 Guevara entered the role of secretary of of Peter Dinklage embodied Bollivar Trask in the movie X-Men: future is past on. In the same year she was cast in the role of police officer Sarah Essen in one of the leading roles for the series Gotham . She played this role until the beginning of the second season in 2015. Since 2011 she has appeared in the series Person of Interest , Blue Bloods - Crime Scene New York , CSI: Vegas , Common Law , Burn Notice , Limitless , Elementary , Chicago Med , The Handmaid's Tale - The Maid's Report , Castle Rock , Snowfall, and The Twilight Zone .

From 2016 to 2017 Guevara starred as Lydia Cruz in a supporting role in the series The Get Down , which was discontinued after only one season of production. In 2018 she played a supporting role in the film drama Irreplaceable and was seen in the same year in the first seasons of the anthology series Tell Me a Story and in New Amsterdam in recurring roles. In 2019 she starred as Alice in the psychological thriller Swallow . From 2019 to 2020 she played one of the leading roles in Emergence as the pediatrician Abby Fraiser .

Guevara is married and has two children.
