Johann Fohl

Johann Fohl (* 1982 in Berlin-Lichtenberg ) is a German actor and voice actor .

Life

Johann Fohl, born in what was then the eastern part of Berlin , grew up in Hamburg . Fohl initially trained as an event manager with qualification as an event manager .

After passing his exam, he returned to Berlin in 2006, where he completed his acting studies at the Berlin Film Acting School (FFS Berlin) from 2006 to 2009 . Since then he has worked as a freelance actor and speaker. He is also active as a voice actor and reader for the speaker collective “Die LautSsprecher”.

Fohl has had numerous theater engagements on state theaters, but has also worked in various off-theater productions. He got his first engagement towards the end of his studies for a planned production at the Berlin Schlosspark Theater . In the 2009/10 season he was there, alongside Dieter Hallervorden , as Prince Arthur, who does not want to become king, in the black-humored political farce King of Hearts by Alistair Beaton . In 2011 he appeared at the Schlosstheater Celle as Servant Gottschalk in Das Käthchen von Heilbronn . This was followed by guest engagements at the Junge Generation theater in Dresden (season 2011/12, as Indianer Joe / Alfred Temple in Tom Sawyer ) and at the Landesbühne für Niedersachsen (season 2012/13, at the Hildesheim theater as Ferdinand in Kabale und Liebe ).

Since 2012 he has been a regular guest at the Berlin Schlosspark Theater, where he a. a. as Mr. Harvey in Ladykillers (2013), as Schürzenjäger David, the brother of the main character, in The King's Speech (2014–2015, alongside Oliver Mommsen ) and as Mozart in Amadeus (2015 to early 2016).

He has also appeared regularly at the Berlin Vaganten stage since 2012 . In 2016 he worked as Papageno and Sarastro in a production of the Mozart opera Die Zauberflöte at the Konzerthaus Berlin . In 2017 and 2018 he was a guest under the direction of Ute Willing in the comedy And God spoke: We have to talk! at the Comedy on Kurfürstendamm and at the Comedy Winterhuder Fährhaus in Hamburg.

Fohl also stood in front of the camera for cinema and television. In the short film Beyond the Line , which was published on “12. Shocking Shorts Awards Screening ” premiered at the Munich Film Festival , Fohl played one of two police officers who kidnap and torture a suspect of child sexual abuse in order to save the life of a little girl.

He had episode roles u. a. in the TV series SOKO Wismar (2012, as neighbor Naumann), Notruf Hafenkante (2014) and Dengler (2017). In November 2015, Fohl was seen in the television series In aller Freunde in a leading episode role as Uwe Graf; he embodied a helpless father who has a problem accepting that his son is intersex .

Fohl also works as a speaker for audio and computer games . As a voice actor, he was involved in numerous international cinema and TV productions, including a. on Cars 3: Evolution (as the voice of Chase Elliott ), Britannia (as the voice of Joe Armstrong ), Game of Thrones and Chicago PD (in multiple roles).
