Garcelle Beauvais (born November 26, 1966 in Saint-Marc , Haiti ) is an American actress of Haitian descent.

Life

Garcelle Beauvais' mother, Maria Claire, was a teacher. She moved to Massachusetts after the divorce and took her seven children with her. The family moved to Miami a few years later .

At the age of 17, Beauvais moved to New York City , where she worked as a model for the Ford agency . She made her debut in an episode of the 1984 television series Miami Vice . From 1994 to 1995, she appeared in the television series Models Inc. on.

In the action comedy The Double Number (2001) Beauvais played opposite Orlando Jones . From 2001 to 2004 she played the role of prosecutor Valerie Heywood in the television series New York Cops - NYPD Blue .

Beauvais was married to Daniel Saunders from 1991 to 2000, with whom she has a son born in 1991. In her second marriage, she married agent Mike Nilon in May 2001 , from whom she divorced in April 2011. She was voted one of the 10 Sexiest Women of 2001 by readers of Black Men Magazine in 2001 . In August 2007, she pulled out for the US edition of Playboy magazine .
