The London Borough of Barnet [ ˈbɑːnɪt ] is a borough of London in the north of the city. When the Greater London Administrative Region was established in 1965, it emerged from the Municipal Borough of Finchley , the Municipal Borough of Hendon and the Friern Barnet Urban District in the County of Middlesex and from the East Barnet Urban District and the Barnet Urban District in the County of Hertfordshire .

Barnet maintains u. a. a town partnership with the Berlin district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg and the district of Siegen-Wittgenstein in North Rhine-Westphalia as well as with cities in France ( Chaville , Le Raincy ) and Israel ( Ramat Gan ).
