The Bishop's Avenue
The Bishops Avenue is a street in London known as Billionaire road (Engl. Billionaire's Row ) is called. It is located in the north of the city in Barnet and is about 1.5 kilometers long. There are a total of 66 properties on it. It is cut by the four-lane A1 .
The hilly area is in the south through the park Hampstead Heath , the west by the golf course Hampstead Golf Club and the east by the Golf Club Highgate Golf Club determined.
Bishop's Wood , the forest of the Bishop of London , has been here since the 8th century . It wasn't until the 20th century that the Church of England began selling properties here. These are on average around 10,000 square meters.
Property prices rose over £ 1 million from the 1980s and are much higher today. The Jersey House was sold for £ 40 million in 2010. In 2012 a plot of land was offered for £ 100 million (about 123 million euros). It is owned by industrialists such as Lakshmi Mittal , publishers such as Richard Desmond and members of the Saudi Arabian ruling family who acquired ten villas during the First Gulf War , which have since been vacant and decayed.
A similarly expensive street in London is Kensington Palace Gardens .
