Outer London

Outer London is the collective term for the outer boroughs of Greater London . These are the boroughs that did not form the old County of London between 1889 and 1965 , but at that time still belonged to the counties of Essex , Kent , Middlesex , Surrey and (partially) Hertfordshire .

Outer London includes the following boroughs: Barking and Dagenham , Barnet , Bexley , Brent , Bromley , London Borough of Croydon , London Borough of Ealing , London Borough of Enfield , Haringey , Harrow , Havering , Hillingdon , Hounslow , Kingston upon Thames , Merton , Newham , Redbridge , Richmond upon Thames , Sutton and Waltham Forest .

A slightly different classification is used for statistical purposes: Greenwich also belongs to Outer London, but not Haringey and Newham.
