Driven by Hate (Original title: Riders ) is a British television film from 1993 based on the Riders novel by Jilly Cooper of the same name .

action

The story takes place in the late 1970s and early 1980s in the region Cotswolds in England and focuses on the lives of a group of Glory and money-hungry world-class show jumpers .

The novel deals with the rivalry between Rupert Campbell-Black and Jake Lovell and offers insights into the life of this community of world-class riders, their horses, grooms and families and shows the reader the ups and downs of life in the horse world.

The final showdown is the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles .

Filming lasted from July 1 to September 21, 1992. The image recordings were made with an aspect ratio of 1.33: 1 and were recorded in stereo . The film production company Anglia Films was involved in the film production, and Independent Television owns the distribution rights .

Driven by hatred, it premiered on British television on September 6, 1993. From July 13, 2000, the film was sold on Amazon as a DVD version. Other sources state that the film was released on August 8, 2000 under the title Riders and subsequently on June 14, 2004 under the title Jilly Cooper's Riders .

The film was released in the UK from the age of 15.

The film adaptation of the novel received mostly negative reviews and Gabrielle Beaumont was “too madly in love” with the bestselling novel .
