Belinda L. Mayne (born October 2, 1954 in London - Marylebone ) is a British actress with German roots.

Life

The 19-year-old daughter of actor Ferdy Mayne , born in the London area in the last quarter of 1954, came into contact with film acting through her father and began her career in the Federal Republic of Germany . At her father's side she could be seen coming in, among other things, The Ants ; in the same year (1973) she was one of several children of Johanna Matz in the family comedy When mother went on strike .

Although Belinda Mayne initially had to be dubbed in German films, the British woman continued to be used in German film and television productions; In the Ganghofer film version of the silence in the forest , she was given the female lead. In later years, however, Mayne had to be content with less large-scale tasks and appeared in both English and German-language films. Occasionally she also found employment in the USA .

After appearances in two popular television film series ( Rosamunde Pilcher film adaptation of Lichterspiele and the Bergdoktor episode To Life and Death ), Belinda Mayne retired from working in front of the camera in the late 1990s. In 2011 a paperback was published about her life entitled "Belinda Mayne", subtitled "London, Germany", ISBN 613780097-0 .
