No Pardon for Guardian Angels (Original title: The Protectors ) is a British crime series that was produced between 1972 and 1973.

Three detectives solve criminal cases all over Europe, for which, in addition to their cleverness, they can fall back on elaborate technical equipment, fast cars and the martial artists Suki and Chino .

The international team consists of Lady Caroline Ogilvy , called Contessa di Contini , a widowed art expert who lives in Rome with her chauffeur Chino , the eloquent French Paul Buchet who lives in Paris , and the American Harry Rule , who manages the team from his London office directs from. There he employs Suki as an au pair .

Gerry Anderson produced two seasons for ITC Entertainment with a total of 52 episodes. ZDF only took over 26 of the 52 episodes, which were first broadcast in 1977 on Wednesdays at 6:20 pm. Sat.1 broadcast a total of 46 episodes of the series in 1987, six episodes were not dubbed. In the original version, Harry Rule and his team are secret agents. This was changed in the German dubbing. The theme song Avenues and Alleyways is interpreted by Tony Christie .

Guest stars have included Peter Vaughan , Peter Firth , Patrick Magee , Ed Bishop , Michael Gough , John Neville , Robert Brown , Laurence Naismith , Basil Dignam , Paul Freeman , Jeremy Brett , Eartha Kitt , Madge Ryan and Joanna Lumley . The episodes were staged by directors such as John Hough , Don Chaffey , Cyril Frankel , Michael Lindsay-Hogg , Roy Ward Baker and David Tomblin . Scripts were contributed by David Butler , Sylvia Anderson , Ralph Smart and Brian Clemens , among others .

The entire series was released on DVD in the UK in 2002 , with a US release the following year.

The first season of Pidax Film is to be released on DVD on November 20, 2020. The box also contains the three unsynchronized episodes in the English original with German subtitles that were not broadcast on German television.
