Michael Lindsay-Hogg
Michael Lindsay-Hogg (born May 5, 1940 in New York City , New York ) is an American film and theater director and screenwriter .
life and career
Michael Lindsay-Hogg was born in New York City in 1940, the son of actress Geraldine Fitzgerald . He started his career as a director in television. Between 1964 and 2000 he directed numerous television films and dozens of episodes from well-known television series .
Since 1970 he has made a name for himself as a specialist in music documentaries in addition to productions for television, among other things, he has staged several cinema documentaries by large pop and rock bands, including Let It Be a documentary about the Beatles (1970), Neil Young in Berlin ( 1983), Paul Simon, Graceland: The African Concert (1987), Celebration: The Music of Pete Townshend and The Who (1994) or The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus (1996). In addition, since the early 1970s, he has also directed numerous theater plays for the stage.
Since 1977, Lindsay-Hogg has also directed several feature films for the cinema, including the comedy An Unprecedented Affair (1977) with Glenda Jackson , Melina Mercouri and Geraldine Page in the leading roles, the crime film Object of Beauty with John Malkovich and Andie MacDowell (1991 ), the film drama Frankie Starlight (1995) with Matt Dillon , Gabriel Byrne and Anne Parillaud or the thriller Death in Front of the Camera (1997) with the cast Vincent D'Onofrio , Hope Davis and Kimber Riddle .
Michael Lindsay-Hogg's biological father was the actor Orson Welles , but was recognized as a son by Sir Edward Lindsay-Hogg, 4th Baron.
