Laurence Naismith

Laurence Naismith (born December 14, 1908 in Thames Ditton , Surrey , England , † June 5, 1992 in Southport , Queensland , Australia ) was a British actor .

Life

Naismith was in the Navy prior to acting, which began on the stage in 1927. He was also a soldier during the Second World War, and from 1939 to 1946 he served in the Royal Artillery . After that, the always worried-looking Naismith made his debut in mostly positive roles at the West End and began a film and television career spanning over 70 roles. He became known to a wide audience through his supporting role in the English 1970s cult series Die 2 with Tony Curtis and Roger Moore in the leading roles.

He was married to the actress Christine Bocca from 1939 until his death; Woddy Naismith , who also works as an actor, is his grandson.
