Hot Cats is a British agent comedy with numerous references to the James Bond films. Alternative title is Deadly Cats .

The British agent Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond tracks down an international crime syndicate headed by the unscrupulous oil baron Carl Petersen. During his investigations, he repeatedly comes across Petersen's murderous "cats" Irma and Penelope, who in cold blood get rid of anyone who could harm their client. Nevertheless, Drummond manages to penetrate Petersen's secret command center. There is a showdown .

The character of Bulldog Drummond was created in 1920 by crime writer Cyril McNeile and became the protagonist of a successful book and film series. The character enjoyed great popularity until the 1950s and is considered a role model for Ian Fleming's hero James Bond .

Leading actor Richard Johnson was in the casting for James Bond chasing Dr. No the first choice. However, the engagement failed due to contractual disputes. This cleared the way for Sean Connery .
