Nigel Green
Nigel Green (born October 15, 1924 in Pretoria , South Africa , † May 15, 1972 in Brighton , England ) was a British actor in theater , film and television .
Life
Green studied chemistry in England and later began acting training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art . He made his theater debut in London in the late 1940s . From 1952 he appeared in many films and as a guest in television series. He became internationally known for the portrayal of British officers in war films , such as in Tobruk .
Green had been married to actress Patricia Marmont since 1952 , and they later divorced. He died of a sleeping pill overdose in 1972.
