Reviews

"In the mixture of the seriousness of the accusation and better colportage, it is extremely disgusting."

- Die Weltwoche , 1960

“Not a comedy from Hollywood, but serious German contemporary drama. As such, it is as lacking in style as it is tactless in the political and human sphere.

- Films 1959/61

"The outrageous story is blown into a completely serious - and therefore ridiculous - melodrama without any ironic distance."

“The film, for which the legendary producer Hans Abich (" The Confessions of the Impostor Felix Krull ") was partly responsible, suffers above all from the completely unironic presentation of its richly outrageous story, which in the end grows into a solid melodrama. Unfortunately, the finished work often seems involuntarily funny, which even the good cast cannot change. In addition to Nadja Tiller, who offers a solid performance in the lead role, the young Hansjörg Felmy is also quite convincing. "
