Ilse Gertrud Trautschold (born February 27, 1906 in Charlottenburg ; † May 17, 1991 there ) was a German actress and cabaret artist .

Life

Trautschold was born in his parents' apartment at Pestalozzistraße 62 in Charlottenburg. Her parents were the actor Gustav Trautschold and his wife Margarete Ida Katharina Jenny geb. Puhlmann. At the age of fourteen she volunteered as a choir singer and completed her acting training at the Volksbühne Berlin . In 1921 she got her first engagement in Berlin, further stages were Köslin , Bremen and Beuthen . She was particularly successful in the title role of Gerhart Hauptmann's Hanneles Himmelfahrt .

Since 1926 she has belonged to the left-wing Berlin cabaret “Die Wespen”, in 1930 she joined the “Group of Young Actors” who founded the cabaret “Die Pille”. Her first film role as the working-class girl Erna in Mother Krausen's Drive to Happiness (1929) also corresponded to her role. During the time of National Socialism she made guest appearances at various theaters and took on a few small film roles, in which she embodied mostly rough Berlin women.

In 1948 she joined the cabaret Die Insulaner . She gave guest appearances at the Free Volksbühne in Good Neighbors (1954), at the Schaubühne in Lügen-Billy (1965) and at the Hansa Theater in Zu ville Promille . In the post-war period she found promising film roles primarily at DEFA , and later also in the West. Her only leading role was played in 1955 as Countess Agathe in the fairy tale film The Sandman .

She was also a popular radio play speaker. Her smoky voice is best known for the radio play series Pension Spreewitz , in which she plays the continuous role of Martha Wurm, owner of a soap shop in the pension's house.

Ilse Trautschold, who was considered a typical Berliner, was the partner of the actor Friedrich Gnaß . In 1987 she received the gold film tape for many years of outstanding work in German film.

Her grave is located in Dahlem Forest Cemetery in Department 2U-84.
