action

Karin Hartung feels in her marriage to the chemist Dr. Herbert Hartung is no longer well, because her married life has resulted in an unbearable routine for her, in which she as a woman hardly feels noticed by her husband. Because everything she does is taken for granted and she no longer receives any attention, she decides to put an end to her marriage and return to her parents' home. She takes a job as a secretary in her father's company, while Herbert is now alone in front of the daily household chores, which he does sometimes well and sometimes less well within the scope of his possibilities in a funny way.

At her job, Karin meets Viktor, an extremely charming gentleman and childhood friend of Herbert, who falls in love with her at first sight. He doesn't know who Karin was married to, only that their marriage failed. Taking this into account, his advances are limited, but he persuades Karin to rethink her future life planning. He convinces her that she could do an honorable job as a housewife instead of spending her life in a factory and suggests a job with one of his acquaintances who is currently looking for a domestic help. The grotesque thing is that it is Herbert, of all people, who Viktor recommends her as a future employer and thus almost immediately pushes Karin back into the same role from which she actually wanted to free herself.

However, Karin accepts Viktor's suggestion and shows up with him at Herbert's, which causes utter chaos. Quick-witted, as Karin is, she gets Herbert to play this role-play that is now inevitably developing. She begins on purpose to make Herbert jealous by provocatively flirting with Viktor, who of course is not averse; Little does he know that his friend Herbert is the man Karin ran away from.

Then, however, the tide turns when the attractive Elvira also introduces herself to Herbert and applies for the position of domestic help. Mutual little jealousy games and provocations now inevitably take their course. In the end, however, Karin and Herbert find each other again by admitting that they both made mistakes in the past. You are determined to start a new attempt at marriage in order to become permanently happy together.

"Harmless, sometimes very constructed comedy, which can only be saved from slipping into the irrelevant thanks to Kurt Hoffmann's direction."
