Willy Clever
Willy Clever (born August 22, 1905 in Elberfeld , German Reich , † December 1969 ) was a German actor and screenwriter .
Life
Clever began his career in the outgoing silent film as an actor and appeared in front of the camera in small and medium-sized roles until 1933. In the same year 1933 Arnold Fanck brought him to his home as one of two assistant directors in the mountaineering drama The Eternal Dream . Shortly before that, Clever had also tried to direct a short film. After managing the production of a Nazi aviation commercial with Ernst Udet in the mid-1930s, Willy Clever began writing scripts in 1938. Most of his manuscripts are hardly noteworthy, only his template for the masterful Maupassant film Romance in minor , written in 1942 together with Helmut Käutner , was remarkable and brought Clever some recognition.
