Die Werft zum Grau Hecht is a love film by the director Frank Wysbar , who also wrote the screenplay , from 1935. Hermann Speelmans embodies the auto mechanic Otto Menzel in the leading role .
action
Otto Menzel, a car mechanic with body and soul, is friends with Mila Schellhase, who asks him to finally take her as his wife. Otto, however, still has concerns and does not really know how to evade this situation without offending Mila. So his friend and work colleague Franz Boehm comes in handy, who gives Otto a job with Bernhard Münchow, who owns a car repair shop that is a bit remote. In his new job Otto hopes to get some distance from his girlfriend, who urges him to make a decision about the wedding.
As luck would have it, Otto met the attractive Käthe, the daughter of the owner of the shipyard "Zum grau Hecht", and fell in love with her. But he did not expect Ladewig, who is also in love with Käthe and is therefore a direct rival. Ladewig finds out that Otto is actually with Mila and makes sure that she finds him.
The plot of the film takes a turn when Mila falls in love with the workshop owner Bernhard Münchow. The situation is complicated again when she learns that he is only targeting her financial fortune.
After numerous misunderstandings, however, the plot of the film has a happy ending , which everyone involved can reasonably live with.
