CW Fernbach

CW Fernbach (born April 18, 1915 in Bruck an der Leitha ; † November 30, 1967 in Vienna ; actually Carl Wilhelm Fernbach ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

After graduating from high school, CW Fernbach studied acting at the Vienna Academy for Music and Performing Arts and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg . In 1935 he accepted an engagement at the Scala Theater in Vienna and also played at the Vienna Citizens' Theater . During the Second World War he did military service. After 1945 Fernbach played in various Viennese theaters and appeared in numerous films. In the decade before his death he was a permanent member of the theater in der Josefstadt , where he was particularly successful in the role of bon vivant .

CW Fernbach was a brother of the jazz musician Johannes Fehring . In 1963 he married the actress Dany Sigel . He collapsed during a performance of Never Again Mary in the Josefstadt theater and died shortly afterwards. His grave is in the Vienna Central Cemetery .
