Rudi, behave! is a German hit film by Franz Josef Gottlieb from 1971.

action

Rudi Carnel keeps his head above water by writing short stories, but is actually a passionate inventor. He has developed a universal robot that he wants to introduce to the head of the large International Electric Company , but only his deputy Sebastian Hill is there. Shortly before, Rudi snatched the parking lot from under his nose, so that Sebastian wouldn't be able to talk to him. His secretary Andrea advises Rudi to go after Sebastian and her to Seekirchen in Carinthia on Lake Wörthersee and talk to Sebastian about his invention there, as he always reacts milder on vacation. Meanwhile, Sebastian believes he has the inventor Rudi in front of him in baby laundry representative Friedrich Schiller. In the end, the suitcases are mixed up and Rudi brings Friedrich's baby laundry suitcase home with him. This is all the more tragic since there is a lottery ticket in Rudi's suitcase - which Friedrich carries home - which is worth half a million marks when redeemed. Rudi had received the lottery ticket from his sister Olga in custody. Since Friedrich also goes on vacation to Seekirchen with his eternally dissatisfied wife Luise, Rudi, his friend Chris and Rudi's niece Anita also go to Seekirchen.

After a few detours, the three of them find out that Friedrich is their neighbor at the campsite. He noticed the change of suitcase long ago. Through various coincidences, Rudi's robot ends up at Sebastian Hill. Rudi's suitcase, in turn, is stolen by the criminals Oskar and Balduin. They put a bomb in the suitcase and take it to the castle hotel in Seekirchen. Baldwin found the lottery ticket in his suitcase and took it back. Anita and her gang catch Baldwin with a lasso and tie him to a tree. After some back and forth the suitcase gets back to Balduin via Rudi and Friedrich and several mix-ups and explodes in front of his nose. Everyone, including Sister Olga, who has come to Seekirchen herself, believes that the lottery ticket was destroyed in the explosion, but Anita had long since taken it.

There are several happy endings: Chris fell in love with the receptionist Doris in the castle hotel and in the end the two of them find each other because the supposed rival Hansi turns out to be Doris' brother. Rudi can sell Sebastian his robot because Sebastian's superior Joop Gering is actually Rudi's best friend. In the end, Rudi and Sebastian's secretary Andrea also become a couple.
