Mister Dynamit - Tomorrow Death Kisses You is an agent satire from 1967 by the German director Franz Josef Gottlieb based on the Mister Dynamit crime story of the same name by Karl-Heinz Günther (pseudonym: C. H. Guenter). It was premiered by Nora-Film distribution on August 18, 1967.

action

The millionaire and criminal mastermind Bardo Baretti has allegedly stolen a US atomic bomb through a gang of criminals and is extorting a billion dollars from the United States. If no payment is made, he threatens to drop the bomb on the American capital Washington.

Agent No. 18 of the German secret service BND Robert "Bob" Urban , known as Mister Dynamit, is on his trail . Gradually, through his ability to ventriloquism, he succeeds in eliminating Baretti's henchmen one after another and uncovering his plan: The theft of the atom bomb was just a bluff that was constructed with the help of an accomplice in the US military command. In the end, however, Baretti manages to escape.

Reviews

"At times tasteless agent film between brutality and silly comedy."

"The 'fireball' motif is so skilfully modified and staged, despite the James Bond bonds that can still be identified, that the film stands out noticeably from the rest of the agent series."

Others

  • The film production asked the Federal Ministry of Defense and later also the Federal Intelligence Service for support in order to be allowed to shoot on a military training area and in the building of the Federal Intelligence Service. Since the Federal Intelligence Service was not contacted until after the shooting began, there was no longer any cooperation.
  • Various actors and also the cameraman Siegfried Hold had already worked with Barker on his Karl May films . Actor Brad Harris also starred in the seven Commissioner X films. The main character in these films was also invented by C. H. Guenter.
  • Since it premiered, the film has only been shown on television twice.
  • After this film, more novels about Mister Dynamit were to be filmed with Lex Barker. But because he first had to claim his fee for this film, which was mainly shot in Spain, he no longer showed any interest in plans for sequels.
