Ane Brun
Ane Brunvoll (born March 10, 1976 in Molde ) is a Norwegian songwriter .
Ane Brun now lives in the Swedish capital Stockholm and has her own record label DetErMine Records (literally: “these are my records”). Since the album Sketches (2008) her label has been operating under the name Balloon Ranger Recordings .
biography
Brun started her career at the age of 21 when she brought the family's old acoustic guitar to Oslo , where she lived at the time. In the next three years she learned a. a. Songs by their favorite musicians Ani DiFranco , Joni Mitchell , Ben Harper and Nick Drake . She developed her own style and performed for the first time as a street musician in Barcelona and San Sebastian in 1998 .
Back in Norway she moved to Bergen and became part of the band Damsels in Distress . In 2000 she moved to Stockholm to become a professional musician. Since then she has been playing in small clubs as well as on large stages - e.g. B. with a-ha at Wembley Stadium in December 2005.
From March to May 2010 Ane Brun played in the opening act of Peter Gabriel's New Blood Tour. She also worked as a background singer and took over the vocal part of Kate Bush on Don't Give Up .
In September 2011, Ane Brun released the album It All Starts with One . Together with her producer Tobias Fröberg, she engaged a few well-known faces. So participated u. a. the two drummers Per Eklund (Lykke Li, Miike Snow) and Ola Hultgren; Martin Hederos ( The Soundtrack of Our Lives ) played the organ. In Do You Remember , Ane Brun is supported by the two sisters from First Aid Kit . In Song Worship is Junip frontman José González there.
Her seventh studio album When I'm Free was released on September 4th, 2015.
