Joy in Flying , later also Sylvia in the Realm of Lust , is a German film by Franz Josef Gottlieb based on the novel Fear of Flying by Erica Jong . The first performance was on September 9, 1977. The main role is played by Gianni Garko , who is known from numerous spaghetti westerns .
action
The young woman Silvia is neglected by her husband Kurt. During the flight to a congress of psychoanalysts, she dreams of herself, like Jong's heroine Isadora, reading an emancipatory novel entitled The joy of flying into a world of her own. Then she has an affair with the businessman Jörg. She realizes that the total living out of all sexual day and night dreams alone does not make anyone a free person.
criticism
"Intrusive product promotion for Erica Jong's novel 'Fear of Flying'."
"In this involuntarily comical snack porn, they also desecrate Erica Jong and her fantastic novel"
annotation
In order to be able to market the film better, the leading actress Corinne Brodbeck, a Swiss photo model, was renamed Corinne Cartier - and the title already appeared on DVD, misleadingly, as Sylvia - In the realm of lust . The film was announced on film posters under the title Silvia in the Realm of Lust .
