Bouzov (German Busau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 30 kilometers northwest of the city center of Olomouc in the Drahaner Bergland and belongs to the Okres Olomouc .
geography
The place is located in the northern foothills of the Drahaner Bergland high above the Třebůvka valley . To the southwest rises the main peak of the 459 m high Bakule, on whose saddle the place was built.
Neighboring towns are Radnice and Jeřmaň in the north, Obectov in the north-east, Podolí in the east, Olešnice, Hvozdečko and Javoříčko in the south-east, Kadeřín and Blažov in the south, Svojanov in the south-west, Kozov in the west and Bezděkov nad Třebůvkou in the north-west.
history
The place arose at the eastern foot of Bouzov Castle, first mentioned in 1317, and was subject to the lords of the castle. At the beginning of the 15th century, the lords of Kunstadt belonged to the various noble families who succeeded each other as owners of the castle and the place, and it is assumed that Georg von Podebrady was born in Bouzov.
In 1695 the German Knight Order bought the rule and remained the owner of Busau until the patrimonial rule was abolished. With the creation of new political structures, the Busau market came to the district administration of Littau in 1850 . The development in the town, which had been independent since 1848 and was previously economically dependent on the lord of the castle, has stagnated since then. The order let the castle fall into disrepair, and Busau became impoverished due to its location far from all main roads and railways. Under Grand Master Eugen von Österreich-Teschen , the castle was restored and redesigned in a neo-Gothic style.
Today the castle, which can be seen from afar, is a magnet for tourists. There is a gallery in the outer bailey.

The municipality of Bouzov consists of the districts Bezděkov ( Besdiekau ), Blažov ( Blaschau ), Bouzov ( Busau ), Doly ( Hoffnungsthal ), Hvozdečko ( Wodetzko ), Jeřmaň ( Hermannsdorf ), Kadeřín ( Kaderschin ), Kovářov ( Kowarschow ), Kozov ( Kosow) ), Obectov ( Obetzdorf ), Olešnice ( Woleschnitz ), Podolí ( Podol ) and Svojanov ( Swanau ).
Basic settlement units are Bezděkov, Blažov, Bouzov, Doly, Hvozdečko, Jeřmaň, Kadeřín, Kovářov, Kozov, Obectov, Olešnice, Podolí, Starý pivovar and Svojanov.
The municipality is divided into the cadastral districts of Bezděkov nad Třebůvkou, Blažov, Bouzov, Doly u Bouzova, Hvozdečko, Jeřmaň, Kadeřín, Kovářov u Bouzova, Kovozov, Obectov, Olešnice u Bouzova, Podzolí u Bouzova and S. Bouzova
