history

The first written mention of Dolan was in 1235. In 1264 Wilhelm von Dolan was named as the owner of the property, in 1283 Ratmir von Dolan and 1320 Otanek and Racek von Dolan. Racek's widow Větislava sold the estate together with her children to Beneš von Skoronice. He sold it in 1355 to Beneš von Wildenberg and Bouzov . In 1378 the Litomist Bishop Albrecht von Sternberg bought Dolany and Tovéř from the brothers Beneš and Půta von Bouzov. The following year the bishop donated both villages along with other goods to the Tržek Charterhouse . Between 1388 and 1409 the order established the Charterhouse "Vallis Josaphat" (also Thal Josaphat ; Czech Údoli Josafat ) near Dolan . Their first prior was Stephan von Dolein , who appeared as a staunch opponent of the teachings of John Wyclif and Jan Hus . Between 1421 and 1427, the Carthusians fled the Hussites to Olomouc several times . These took the Charterhouse on February 2, 1425 and used it as a base for their attacks against the Catholic Olomouc. After the Hussites had withdrawn from Dolany, the citizens bought the Charterhouse and had it razed in 1437. In 1443 the order established the charterhouse "Domus Vallis Josephus" in Olomouc . From 1547 the place was called Dolein , 1561 Döllein , 1691 Dolain and 1771 Dolanium . The registers have been kept in Jívová from 1642 until 1645 . Until the abolition of the order in 1782, Dolany remained in the possession of the Carthusians for over 400 years. Thereafter, the Dolany lordship, consisting of the town of Jívová and the villages of Dolany, Tovéř and Novosady, was merged with the estates of the former monastery Hradisko to form the cameraman of Hradisch and in 1826 sold to Philip Ludwig Count Saint-Genois de Anneaucourt. In 1786, the settlement Geblersdorf / Geblov was founded west of the village on the corridors of a disbanded manorial farm .

After the abolition of patrimonial Dolany / Dollein formed from 1850 with the settlements Geblersdorf / Geblov and Novosady / Neudörfel a municipality in the district administration of Olomouc. In 1919 Weska / Véska was incorporated . From 1921 the municipality belonged to the Okres Olomouc-venkov. In 1930 there were 1848 people in Dolany, of which 1596 were Czechs and 248 Germans. During the German occupation , the Weska district was separated from Dolany on May 1, 1939 as part of a border adjustment with the German Empire and added to the German district of Sternberg as an independent municipality . Véska initially remained independent even after the end of the war. In 1948 Geblov was renamed Dolánky and merged with Dolany from 1952. In 1950 Dolany came to Okres Olomouc-okolí and since its abolition in 1961 the place belongs to Okres Olomouc. In 1960 Tovéř , 1974 Pohořany and two years later Véska was incorporated. Tovéř broke up again in 1990. In 1991 Dolany had 1802 inhabitants. In 1997 the new building of the Alois Štěpánek elementary school was completed. An 18-hole golf course was built near Véska. The most famous company was the Likérka Dolany as liqueur factory , which u. a. produced the herbal liqueurs “Praděd” and “Jakamarus” and was dissolved after its bankruptcy in 2009.
