Blatec (German Blatze ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers south of Olomouc and belongs to the Okres Olomouc .

geography

Blatec is located on the Romza brook in the Upper Moravian Valley ( Hornomoravský úval ). The railway line Olomouc - Nezamyslice runs southeast of the village, the railway station Blatec is outside the village on the open field.

Neighboring towns are Nedvězí and Nemilany in the north, Kožušany and Tážaly in the north-east, U Kocandy, Blatecký Mlýn, Grygov and Horka in the east, Charváty in the south-east, Drahlov in the south, Štětovice, Vrbátky and Dubany in the south-west and Bystročice in the west.

history

Archaeological finds prove that the municipality was settled during the funnel cup culture .

The village was originally called Tážaly or Velké Tážaly, while today's Tážaly was formerly called Tážalky and never belonged to the Olomouc city estates.

The first written mention of a Vorwerk v Tasalech belonging to the Olomouc chapter was made in 1141 in an inventory of the Olomouc bishop Heinrich Zdik . From 1356 the place was called Desal , from 1400 Gross Desal , 1412 Magnus Dezal , 1430 Magnum Desal and 1499 Tážaly . In 1369 the name Blaczcze can be found for the first time ; which can be found from 1492 in the Czech form Blatec and 1508 as Blatcze . Both names were used in parallel until the middle of the 16th century. Since 1500 Tážaly belonged to the estates of the city of Olomouc. Gross Desal can be found for the last time in 1550 , after that only Blatec , Blatce (from 1587), Blocz (1601), Blatze (from 1655) and Blatz (1828). This also allows the interpretation that Tážaly and Blatce could be two villages that merged in the 16th century. The registers have been kept in Charváty since 1653. The site, which was laid out as a circular structure , is said to have been completely enclosed in the past, and only in the northern part was accessible from the east and west through two opposite gates. Later, Blatce was expanded to the east, with the Zábraní settlement consisting of two rows of houses in front of the gate. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was always subject to the city of Olomouc.

After the abolition of patrimonial Blatec / Blatze formed from 1850 a community in the district administration of Olomouc. Until the end of the 19th century, the village could only be reached via dirt roads and was often cut off from the outside world in winter or in rainy weather. From 1921 the municipality belonged to the Okres Olomouc-venkov. In 1922, the village green, which until then had been a meadow with pear trees and over which the marshy Romza flowed, was redesigned and the properties merged on the initiative of senior teacher Alois Grunt. In 1950 the community came to Okres Olomouc-okolí and since its abolition in 1961 it has belonged to Okres Olomouc. 1980 Blatec lost its independence and became a district of Kožušany . Since 1990 Blatec has formed its own municipality again.
