history

It was first mentioned in a document in 1277, when Hermann de Moiethin was one of the mediators in the dispute between the monasteries Hradisko and Velehrad over the border between Bystrovany and Chválkovice. At that time Moiethin consisted of a moated castle complex with a bailey . 1306 gave King Wenceslas III. Unka de Moyetyn the scrubland around the royal forest of Chlum. Because Wenceslas had also given a piece of this bush to the city of Olomouc to found the village of Aw and the royal forest, a protracted dispute developed between the Lords of Moyetyn and the Olomouc council. In 1318 the place was called Mogetin . After Unka's death, his son Viknan and his wife Eliška inherited the property. The next owner was her son Unka II, who worked as a councilor at the Supreme Court and was appointed ambassador by the Moravian margraves for important matters. Unka II was able to own his property a. a. expand by the goods Svésedlice , Penčice, Buk , Olšany , Čertoryje, Čelčice and Ivaň . In 1351 Unka's servant Miška went on a raid in the village of Holice. In 1352 Margrave Johann Heinrich decided the dispute over the Königswald and Grygov. After Unka II had been compensated by the Olomouc bourgeoisie with 50 pounds of Prague groschen, he handed the withholding deed of gift from 1306 to the council. In 1354 Unka II sold. Castle Mayeczin with the court, a mill at the March and the villages Mayeczin and Lhotka to the Olomouc High Chamberlain Jan / Ješek of Krawarn and his brother Drslav. Unka kept two strokes from Mayeczin . Latzek von Krawarn sold Mageczin with Lhotka and the desert village of Mastník in 1374 to the Brno Burgrave Valentin von Přestavlk for 450 groschen . Two years later Unka von Majetín sold the remaining two hubs to Ješek von Kunstadt , who died in 1406. In 1408 Bohunek of Majetín acquired the Majetín estate with Lhotka and shares in Bolelouc and Dubany. Bohunek had the moated castle strengthened and, together with his brother Valentín, who later also became co-owner of the estate, led numerous feuds with his neighbors and robbed their cattle. During the Hussite Wars the brothers fought on the side of the insurgents and after Majetín had become one of the main strongholds of the Hussites in the Olomouc region, Emperor Sigismund ordered the razing of the castle. With the extinction of the Lords of Majetín, the Magetin rule fell back to the sovereign in 1440. King Ladislaus Postumus left the rule to Hans and Machna von Vasatice and Dubany in 1448. Their son sold Majetín with the desert village of Lhotka in 1481 to Mikeš of Kokory. The following owners were Bohuslav von Kokory and from 1495 Zdeněk von Kokory. He had several fish ponds created. Zdeněk's sons Jan and Jindřich sold the manor in 1516 to Jan Kubík von Opatov, who five years later sold it to Johann von Pernstein . This joined Magetin to the rule Tovačov . After the Lords of Pernstein , Stephan Illesházy took over from 1597, the Counts Salm - Neuburg from 1600 , the Lords von Peterswald from 1715 and finally the Barons von Kuenburg from 1763 . Further forms of the name were Mayetin (1691), Magedein (1720), Mogetein (1751), Majetinium , Mogitein (1771), Magetein , Majetín (from 1846) and Majetein (from 1847). The registers were kept in Kokory from 1700 to 1871. In 1841 the railway line from Olomouc to Prerau was completed, but a railway station was not built near Majetín. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was always subject to the Tovačov rule, who had a court in Majetín.

After the abolition of patrimonial Majetín / Majetein formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration of Olomouc. From 1921 the municipality belonged to the Okres Olomouc-venkov. In the course of the land reform in the 1920s, the yard was parceled out. In 1950 the community came to Okres Olomouc-okolí and since its abolition in 1961 it has belonged to Okres Olomouc. In the "Village of the Year" competition in Olomoucký kraj, Majetin was awarded the White Ribbon for child and youth welfare in 2000, the Green Ribbon in 2002 for caring for green spaces and the environment, in 2004 the Blue Ribbon and in 2005 the winner awarded the Golden Ribbon.
